As a newer route, Lemosho is more remote and arguably more beautiful, but a bit longer and slightly more expensive. It starts at Londorossi Gate on the western side, crosses the Shira Plateau, joins the Machame route and descends via the Southern Circuit through the Barranco Valley. You may see buffalo and elephant. Because this route can be done over a longer period, allowing better acclimatisation, it has a higher summit success rate.
