Itinerario día a día

  1. Día 1Tarangire National Park

After a briefing and a two-hour drive you arrive at Tarangire. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and seasonal marshes characterise this nature reserve. Tarangire is considered one of the best places to see elephants up close, and the park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests, followed by predators such as lions; leopards are seen occasionally. From the open roof of your safari vehicle you take in the landscape and watch the animals. Overnight at a lodge.

  2. Día 2Central Serengeti National Park

Travel through the cooler highlands to the eastern Serengeti, reaching the plains at midday. Tanzania's largest park has many habitats — short-grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps and lakes — and kopjes dot the landscape where predators gather. It is famous for the yearly migration of hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras in search of fresh grass and water.

    Serengeti

  3. Día 3Northern Serengeti National Park

The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti. The areas you visit depend on where the migrating herds are. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals and include lions, leopards (in the acacia trees) and cheetahs. During the short rains of November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south.

  4. Día 4Ngorongoro Crater

Early departure for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You drive into the huge collapsed volcano, home to more than 25,000 mammals including the Big Five, and over 500 bird species. Extensive game drive with a picnic lunch, then an afternoon return to Arusha/JRO.
