Programme jour par jour

1. Jour 1Tarangire National Park

   Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and seasonal marshes characterise this nature reserve. Tarangire is considered one of the best places to see elephants up close, and the park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests, followed by predators such as lions; leopards are seen occasionally. From the open roof of your safari vehicle you take in the landscape and watch the animals. In the evening you drive to the lodge.

2. Jour 2Ngorongoro Crater

   A half-day safari inside the crater. You descend over 600 metres into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round supply of water and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo and giant African elephants. The dense predator population includes lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. You also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the south-western corner, home to flamingos, hippos and water birds.

3. Jour 3Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha/JRO

   The park is dominated by the lake of the same name, which attracts large colonies of water birds — particularly impressive are the pink flamingos, cormorants, pelicans and storks. About 400 bird species live in the park. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, and you can see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes and hippos. After the game drive you return to Arusha/JRO.
