1. Giorno 1Arrival in Tanzania

   Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you are picked up by our driver and transferred to Katiti Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. You have time to review your itinerary, as the adventure begins early in the morning.

2. Giorno 2Tarangire National Park

   Explore one of Tanzania's most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants and big cats. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras are almost guaranteed. Lions are plentiful here — Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania's healthiest lion populations.

3. Giorno 3Lake Manyara National Park

   The lake attracts large colonies of water birds, particularly flamingos; about 400 bird species live in the park. It is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, usually found in the central, open part of the park.

4. Giorno 4Lake Natron

   Just past Mto wa Mbu you leave the tarmac road, and the drive continues along adventurous slopes of the East African Rift Valley, past Maasai villages and Ol Doinyo Lengai, the holy mountain of the Maasai. Lake Natron is home to a remarkable variety of birds — in particular about 2.5 million lesser flamingos, for whom the lake is a regular breeding ground. You hike to the lake and visit the nearby waterfalls, a true oasis where you can swim.

5. Giorno 5Northern Serengeti National Park

   In the northern Serengeti you see wildlife in a beautiful setting with few other people around. There are animals here all year, but they are everywhere when the migration is passing through.

6. Giorno 6Central Serengeti National Park

   You explore the extraordinary heart of the Serengeti. The central Serengeti is where wildlife populations are largest, and it is especially good for seeing all three big cats.

7. Giorno 7Central Serengeti National Park

   A second full day in the central Serengeti, with time to linger at the best sightings.

8. Giorno 8Ngorongoro Crater

   Today you descend more than 600 metres into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round supply of water and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals.

9. Giorno 9Traditional Maasai Village Experience

   Discover the traditional life of the Maasai, their culture and traditions, and visit their bomas (a group of huts belonging to an extended family). On arrival at the village expect a traditional welcome, with plenty of singing and dancing — participation is very much encouraged! Afterwards you return to Arusha/JRO.
