Rafiki Safari – 3 Days

Safari Spots

Safari Overview

Our 3 -days Rafiki Safari takes you to Lake Manyara, the World Heritage Site Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. It is designed to offer visitors with time constraints, a short but very intense Tanzanian wildlife safari experience. You will experience the excitement of an African wildlife safari or even a photographic safari in three of the most spectacular national game parks in Tanzania.

Safari Itinerary

DAY 1: Tarangire National Park

You will be picked up at the hotel and then head to the Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. The Tarangire National Park is considered as one of the best places to view elephants up close.
The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals. In the late afternoon, you will leave the park and drive to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

DAY 2: Ngorongoro Crater

On this day, we will head to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife for a half-day safari tour. Supported by all year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephant. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can be seen here. In the evening, we will start ascending from the crater and head to the lodge for our overnight stay.

DAY 3: Lake Manyara National Park

On the last day we will descend over 600m into the crater to view wildlife for a half day’s safari tour. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants.
