Safari Itinerary
DAY 1: Tarangire National Park
It’s time to begin your safari. Welcome to Tanzania! After we greet you and provide you with the trip briefing, we’ll take you out to help you discover why so many people think Tanzania is the best place in Africa to go on safari.
If you’ve never been to Tarangire (and even if you have) you’re in for a real treat. Tarangire is filled with giants – baobab trees all across the park, as well as elephants, lots of them. But that’s just the beginning. Of the big cats, you’ll probably see lions, and cheetahs and leopards are around, too. And it’s impossible to miss the wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Your backdrop for all of this is one of the prettiest in northern Tanzania, with a memorable mix of river woodland, open plains and rolling hills. And some vantage points to take it all in.
DAY 2: Serengeti National Park
You won’t find many better national parks in Africa than the Serengeti, which has few rivals when it comes to both the numbers and variety of animals. Track down the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra. Enjoy the vast horizons that are perfect for spotting predators (especially lions, leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas) and their prey (buffaloes, impalas and kongoni), as well as elephants and giraffes. If you’re really lucky you’ll see a hunt, one of the most exhilarating sights anywhere in the wild. And at every turn, revel in its beauty, with flat-topped acacia trees silhouetted against the setting sun, and so many other classic African safari images.
DAY 3: Serengeti Plains to Ndutu Area
On your outward journey to the park gate, you will enjoy some more game viewing before you leave the Serengeti National Park in at around noon to continue your journey to the Ndutu Area. There’s so much to look forward to when you visit the Ndutu Area. Area. It’s a world of cool-climate forests and views of craters and cliffs that come into focus through the trees. Watch also for the wildlife that lives in the forest, such as elephants and buffaloes, and leopards if you’re very lucky.
DAY 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Today you’ll visit Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most beautiful natural sights in Africa, a place where you’ll experience otherworldly beauty with extraordinary wildlife. Watch as, from above, morning mist rolls up and over the crater rim, and notice how the steep walls suggest a place unlike any other. Down below on the crater floor, explore a lost world preserved in a state of pristine isolation, one that shelters lions and hyenas, elephants and black rhinos, flamingos and golden jackals. There are also forests, hippo-filled lakes, a salt pan and hyena dens, and you’ll never lose the sense that you’ve stumbled into a safari theme park where everything’s wild.
DAY 5: Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park will allow you to tick off so many unique safari highlights, including many that you just won’t find elsewhere. Unlike the elephants you’ll see in other parks, Lake Manyara’s inhabit dense forest – there’s nothing quite like your experience of an elephant suddenly emerging from behind the nearest tree. Also, you’re just as likely to see lions here draped along a branch high in a tree as down on the ground. And baboons. Lots of baboons. The views you’ll see here, too, persist in your memory long after you’ve returned home, thanks to the combination of lake, forest and sheer cliffs, all within just a few kilometres.
DAY 6: Kilimanjaro Shira Plateau Hike
Your hike through the beautifully rugged landscape of Shira Plateau starts at 3,500 m to 3962 m above sea level, making it the highest plateau in the world.
Along different trails and accompanied by the guide, you can enjoy views of Kibo, Kilimanjaro’s highest peak, and its northern glaciers, when the weather permits. The vast plains of neighboring Amboseli National Park and the deep gorge of the Simba River contrast the views of the world’s highest free-standing mountain. When you reach the northern rim of Shira Crater, take a quick stop at different observation points and see the volcanic cones dotting the landscape below. Hike at your own pace and enjoy a picnic lunch under the open sky along the way.
It’s a moderate hike and you don’t need to be an athlete to be able to enjoy it. However, at 3,500m the air is thinner, so pace your step, enjoy the untouched landscapes and the presence of the mighty Kilimanjaro.
DAY 7: Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour
On the way, your guide will inform you about the culture of the Chagga, village life and explain the surrounding fauna and flora. The views are truly breath-taking, and with some luck you will see the summit of Kilimanjaro. When you reach the waterfalls, you will see that they are more than 80 meters high. The pool at the bottom of the waterfall is an inviting place for a refreshing swim so don‘t forget your swimwear!
After having enjoyed the scenery, you slowly return with your guide to Materuni village, where you will experience a traditional Chagga lunch. You also will have the opportunity to taste our local banana beer – definitely not to be missed!
But that’s not all. Next the coffee experience awaits you. Here you will learn how coffee is cultivated, dried, roasted and further processed. You will also be invited to help with the grinding of the coffee, which is traditionally accompanied by Chagga songs and dances – a fun way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

What Our Guests Say
EXCELLENT Based on 127 reviews Posted on Nicolas BVerified Exceptional 6-Day Safari Experience with Safari 360 Safari 360 was a great 6 days. Guide Amos is remarkable - knows in detail about each animal and takes it to the right place. I have seen the migration in Serengeti, the Black Rhino in Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Lake Manyara from close quarters. Accommodations were clean, comfortable, and the food was excellent. It felt very personal because it was a small group.Everything went smoothly, no problems. I would go with them again. Highly recommended.Posted on Rikke HVerified 10/10! Without a doubt the best safari we've ever been to! In just 6 days we saw ALL the five big ones – including not one, but TRE different leopard observations and a nasal horn with its little baby at Ngorongoro. Our guide, Emmanuel, was a pure legend; his eyes are like eagle eyes, he saw lions miles away and knew exactly where the animals would be. The lodges were fantastic (especially the one on the crater edge – to wake up to that view is unreal). The food was delicious, the vehicle was comfortable, everything was perfectly organized. Worth every penny. Planning already to come back with the kids!Posted on Jelle VVerified A Once-in-a-Lifetime Safari with Safari360 and Bakari! Our safari experience in Tanzania with Safari360 was nothing short of extraordinary! From start to finish, everything was impeccably organized, and the entire journey far exceeded our expectations.A huge part of what made this trip unforgettable was our incredible driver and guide, Bakari. His knowledge of the wildlife, landscapes, and parks was unmatched, and his sharp eye for spotting animals was unbelievable. Thanks to him, we didn’t just see the Big Five—we also witnessed a cheetah with her cubs, a black rhino with its young, and countless other animals. Honestly, we can’t think of a single creature we didn’t see during our time in Tanzania!Bakari’s professionalism, warmth, and passion for wildlife made every moment special. He always positioned us perfectly for photos, answered every question with enthusiasm, and ensured we felt safe, comfortable, and amazed every step of the way.If you’re considering a safari in Tanzania, we can’t recommend Safari360 and Bakari highly enough. This was truly the trip of a lifetime, and we’re already dreaming about coming back!Posted on Zander FVerified A Journey Beyond Expectations We've got Safari 360 in our safe hands from day one. Petro arranged everything for us in such a way that the whole trip could be enjoyed without any stress. From start to finish, everything was perfect - the planning, the communication, the hotel booking, even the small details. Our guide was Iddy - a man of calm, experienced and incredibly patient. In every park from Tarangire to Serengeti, he seems to have opened our eyes. A lion resting under a tree, a herd of elephants at the water's edge, or a cheetah hiding in a faraway bush - he would find them as if the animals themselves were waiting for him.Iddie wasn't just a guide, she was a wonderful storyteller. He talked about the life cycle, habits and environment of every animal in such a way that we learn something new every day.The camps were also great - clean, comfortable and in the midst of nature. Sleeping outside the tent on the night of Serengeti, listening to the lion's call - I will never forget it.Safari360 has truly given us the experience of a lifetime.Posted on Nina KVerified POOR RELIABILITY Our safari was full of beautiful sights and incredible memories, BUT it was also overshadowed by the POOR reliability of Safari 360’s vehicles. The only reason we managed to enjoy the experience at all was thanks to our driver and guide who was absolutely outstanding. He was knowledgeable, kind, funny, and always gave 110% to keep us safe and comfortable.Unfortunately, the vehicle broke down three separate times during our trip. The first breakdown happened just outside a Maasai village, and our guide impressively managed to fix it on his own. The second was as we left Serengeti. The third and worst breakdown happened in the middle of nowhere, on the road through the jungle to our accommodation. We were completely stranded until the next morning, when the company finally sent another vehicle. Despite the major disruption to our itinerary, Safari 360 denied any refund or compensation, which was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. To be clear: our guide did everything humanly possible in all three situations. His quick thinking, calm approach, and commitment to his guests were remarkable, and he deserves the highest praise. But as much as we appreciate him, the company itself failed us. Safari 360 seriously needs to maintain their vehicles properly and take responsibility for their clients’ experiences.Posted on Eira NVerified Family Trip Experience With our family, we took a 10-day trip to Tanzania with Safari360. All in all it was a great trip from start to finish. Seeing elephants and giraffes in Tarangire, lions climbing trees in Lake Manyara - everything was real like watching a documentary.Seeing the Great Migration of the Serengeti was the most beautiful moment of the trip. Our guide was very friendly, smiling and learning new things every day.Posted on Nimrah BVerified 6 day Safari with Safari 360 We booked our 6 day Safari with Petro who was very helpful and changed the plan for what we wanted. We had the best driver/guide Bakari who became one of us after 6 days together. He was very patient to the kids (13,13,9) and stayed calm when they were crazy . Every day was special and we saw new sights. They booked us very nice lodges and everything was much more than we expected. Even when the car was needed to take care of we enjoyed a nice visit at a local market. I highly recommend using their service and I definitely will when we come back again.Posted on Maps646398Verified Unique experience It was a wonderful experience, they met all our requests, from the modification of some stages to a guide who spoke Italian. The driver was very experienced and knowledgeable. On the last day we had booked the hotel in Arusha near the airport on our own as the next early morning we had the flight to zanzibar, the guides accompanied us to the reception and made sure everything was ok before leaving us. We felt pampered from arrival to departure. The beautiful accommodations and the seven-seater jeep all to ourselves were the icing on the cake!I recommend living this unique adventure with 360 safaris, thank you for giving us unforgettable moments!Posted on Emiel SmitVerified Excellent guide and amazing parks I went on a 4 day trip with my friends.
