DAY 1: Arusha - Serval Wildlife - Arusha

Our sanctuary is over 1000 acres, prepared in phases and in accordance with the needs of our animals, 50 acres at a time. Animals are ethically obtained from zoos & injured animals from the wild to instill natural behaviors and eventually rehabilitate them into the wild with the assistance of TAWA & TAWIRI.

The animals that reside within our wildlife sanctuary are owned by the Tanzanian government and often brought to us by TAWA as orphans or injured wildlife. We treat and train our animals to prepare them for release into their natural habitat within TANAPA-protected parks.

Our wildlife sanctuary also doubles as an endangered species reintroduction platform to translocate animals to parts of its natural range where populations have significantly declined or been lost. Aiming to establish a viable population within translocated areas. Our most recent animals for release are our lions. Brought to us from other zoos due to being rejected by their mother at a very young age. Upon arrival, these animals were in poor condition; we have trained them and nursed them back to health.

With assistance from TAWA, these animals are being softly released from captivity into their natural habitat.
